COURSE OVERVIEW
The Diploma in Policing is aimed at students who are pursuing management careers within the field of Policing and Law Enforcement. The level of flexibility within the range of electives will allow the individual to pursue further specialisation in the field of Policing and Law Enforcement.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE INCLUDING ASSIGNMENTS AND SUMMATIVES
A Vocational qualification is a practical qualification that relate to a specific job or career sector. Unlike more academic qualifications. The National Diploma: Policing provides both theory and practical/skills to the student. It also provides students with the opportunity to experience workplace situations during study.
The Practical done during training consists of the following;
Simulation Practicals
These are conducted during training
Physical Training practicals
These are conducted by SAPS
Fire Arm Training
Here learners are trained how to use a hand gun, and during training they use live bullets.
Below are the unit standards they do;
- UNIT Standard Title : A Self-Loading Rifle SAQA ID : 119650 for Private use At the end of the training, successful students get Firearm Competency Statement of Results issued by South African Professional Firearm Trainers Council With a Competency certificate, a student can apply for a firearm License.

During training a student compiles a Portfolio of Evidence File (POE)
A portfolio of evidence is a collection of documents that a learner compiles during training to show his or her competence against a set of assessment criteria, as well as the required evidence
